About Us

Chester Big Band is an amateur group of people from Chester and the surrounding areas who rehearse on Wednesday evenings, 8pm – 10pm, in Handbridge, close to the centre of Chester.

We play a mix of traditional big band repertoire such as Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington tunes through more recent material (Sir Duke, Rock Around the Clock, Tequila) to modern big band arrangements of iconic pop/rock tunes such as Tainted Love, Geno.

The band consists of approximately 25 players, playing the following instruments: tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, 1 clarinet, trumpets, trombones, drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano/keyboard and vocals.

Rehearsals are held in Handbridge, near to the centre of Chester.
